What do you get when you cross an Aussie with an American?

What do you get when you cross a bunch of Aussies with a bunch of Americans? One big Quickcomm family of Roogles!
What's a Roogle, you ask? A roogle is a combination of the Australian red kangaroo and the American bald eagle. I have officially taken it upon myself to nominate this exquisite mythical creature as the Quickcomm Mascot.
One of my favorite gifts this season was a bottle of wine I received from a coworker. It was a 2008 Marquis Philips Shiraz that featured the Roogle on the label.

While it was one of my favorite gifts because it was delish, it was more so a favorite because of its symbolism. On the back of the bottle, it explains that the Roogle "symbolizes the friendship between our countries". For those of you who don't know, Quickcomm was founded in Australia in 1997 and established headquarters in New York City in 2003. Off of the top of my head, we now have representation from Australia, England, India, Korea, Puerto Rico and even the exotic and magical Jersey Shore (yes, thats me). If you are ever in a meeting with us, you should try to count how many different accents you will hear. You will probably lose count.
Quickcomm was conceptualized by two telecom auditors over a few beers in a bar. They had a lot of passion and envisioned bringing Telecom Expense Management to the world. Today, that passion and vision has carried on. Here we are nearly 13 years later...one big melting pot held together by the huge heart it was founded on. Maybe I am just sentimental because this is typically a time for reflection, but I feel very lucky compared to some. Simply, because I really like the people who make up this company and I believe in what we do. We help companies save money, save jobs and make our clients look like rockstars. It may be far from glamorous but its kind of cool.
Happy New Year!
