#TelecomTuesdayTip: Understand Fixed-Mobile Convergence

Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) is the integration of wireline and wireless technologies and services that create a unified telecommunications network foundation. Rather than focusing on convergence as voice and date, this convergence of wireline and wireless technology must now be understood. With FMC, telecom service providers are able to reach all customers with all services, as it removes the physical barriers that currently prevent providers from doing so. FMC also claims to offer telecom service providers with the ability to reach all geographies, rather than be constrained to the boundaries of landline networks. Though FMC, end users can use one device to connect wirelessly to a wireline-based line whether at home, mobile or while connecting to WiFi. As the future os FMC is upon us, the benefits will support both providers and end users alike.
